Lands Improvement acquires strategic land opportunity in Stoke Mandeville

Lands Improvement has completed the acquisition of the freehold interest in circa 100 acres of land in Stoke Mandeville, Aylesbury.

The site is located immediately to the south of Aylesbury, close to the Hospital and to the north of Stoke Mandeville with a railway station into Marylebone. It has been identified as a allocation for residential development in the emerging Aylesbury Vale Local Plan.

It has excellent planning prospects and is in a highly sought after location, as well as being only 46 minutes from central London by train. We will be working closely and collaboratively with the local planning authority, the community and other stakeholders as plans for the site evolve.”

We will be looking to build on our relationships and experience in Aylesbury Vale to support the Council in bringing forward new homes and community infrastructure as part of their Garden Town vision.

Lands Improvement also owns 164 acres of mixed-use development land next to Haddenham Airfield, near Aylesbury. The land, which is partially covered by the airfield and Haddenham Business Park, lies six miles south west of Aylesbury and adjacent to Haddenham and Thame Parkway railway station, from which trains run to London Marylebone in 35 minutes.

In September 2015, Aylesbury Vale District Council granted outline planning consent for Lands Improvement’s proposals for the site, which included up to 233 new homes (including affordable housing), a further 12 acres of employment land; a new community pavilion and sports pitches; open space, new footpaths and planting; a retail convenience store and a 64-bed care home.

This vision is now taking shape following the sale of three development plots for a mixture of commercial and residential development earlier this year.
